FIRST SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH RESULTS

by Bernie Jones 21 June 2013

On what looked like a perfect river, most of the 30 matchmen that turned out for the first Summer League Match on 16 June 2013, did not have a bite. It was rumoured that there had been some "Welsh Water" in the river that had put the fish down. However, Nick Bastock managed to catch a couple of nice chub and two smaller samples, plus a barbel from Peg 4 to win with just 14 Lbs 15 Ozs. Second was Colin Morris from peg 26 with a barbel of 7 Lbs 6 Ozs and third was Tony Poolton from peg 76 with a barbel and a gudgeon(!) for 5 Lbs 12 Ozs. For the full result click on the link below.

PLEASURE FISHING DURING MATCHES

by Bernie Jones 7 June 2013

I have had a few 'phone calls about pleasure anglers wanting to fish the waters on match days. We always leave a stretch for pleasure fishing whilst matches are being fished and this year the stretch will be pegs 36 to 70. Although the remainder of the water will be pegged and used for matches, these 35 pegs will not. Also, if you arrive to pleasure fish after a match starts at 1000 Hrs, you can always ask those anglers in the match if they mind if you fish above or below them, as not all pegs are used. Most matchmen will not mind at all.

Please let anyone who is not on the Internet know about this, as it particularly applies to 16 June 2013, as it is both the opening day and it is the first match too.

BUILDWAS WATER

by Bernie Jones 7 June 2013

Will all members please note that the landowner of the meadow adjacent to the new Car Park DOES NOT want anyone walking though his grass, except on the cut path provided, the other side of the style. This grass is needed for Winter animal feed and if it gets trampled down it will not be fit for this purpose. Please respect this request and tell you mates who do not have access to the Internet about it.
