Due to other pressing commitments this winter, I simply do not have the time to organise and run a winter league this year. However, if there is anyone out there that is willing to do this, I can give some assistance (contact details for venues etc) and I would fish as many as I can get to. Please let me know soonest if you want to take this on.

The penultimate match was fished in thick fog for the first 3 hours and the river, although up a little, was very cold. It was won by that man Graham Jones from fancied peg 75 with just 14 Lbs 4 Ozs. Second was Colin Morris from Peg 78 with 6 Lbs 4 Ozs and third was Carl Pavey from Peg 8 with 2 Lbs 11 Ozs. Graham's win now moves him into first place in the league with 60 points, as Ken Arnold was on holiday, so drops to second place and Paul Harrison was either absent too or did not weigh in. This match was won by Will Carr with just 15 Lbs 9 Ozs. Second was Graham Jones with 9 Lbs 8 Ozs and third was Clive Biddulph with 7 Lbs 11 Ozs. As I did not get to this match I don't know which pegs these weights came from. The league positions now are: 1st - Ken Arnold with 54 points, second Paul Harrison with 52 and third Graham Jones with 50. For the full result click on the link.

Apologies for the lateness of this post. Having to sort out my dad's funeral and then his estate has not allowed me to participate in the last few matches and has meant that I have had to spend a lot of time away in Kent. However, I now have the result of Match 7 from our Match Secretary, but can't tell you which pegs were the winners. I do know, however, that the river has fished poorly this summer because it has been so low, with little flow and, therefore little colour. This match was won by Gaz Stinton with just 18 Lbs. Carl Pavey was second with 15 Lbs 8 Ozs and third was Ken Arnold with 11 Lbs 4 Ozs. Looks like Paul Harrison must have not fished this one, or blanked, so the top three places are now Ken Arnold with 50 points, followed by Paul Harrison with 46 and Graham Jones in third place with 41. It has got back to me that apparently I am to retire from my position as Secretary. NEWS TO ME! Worse still, the same source revealed that both our Chairman and Match Secretary were going too!! Carl has assured me that he is prepaered to stay on in the Chair, but I have not yet heard from Dave about him staying as Match Secretary. However, if this rumour has been started because there actually ARE some members out there who want our jobs, I'm sure we would all stand aside to let them have a bash. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!
