SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH 7 RESULT

by Bernie Jones 23 September 2017

The river was up about a foot, but was running cold and clear. Weights were low as a result. The winnner was Pat Atkins from Peg 18 with 14 Lbs 2 Ozs. If you were going to win one, this was it, as pools money is increased for this one match - known as "The Big One." Second was Ken Arnold from Peg 74 with 13 Lbs exactly and joint 3rd were Colin Morris, from Peg 97 and Paul Stykes from Peg 13 both with exactly 12 Lbs. This now means that Ken Arnold, with 55 points, has increased his lead over Graham Jones, who has 48 and Colin Morris in tird place has closed the gap a little with 40 points. It is the second Float Only match on 24th September, then just 2 more matches to go. Who will win the League? Will anyone catch Ken Arnold? Read the results here! SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH 6 RESULT

by Bernie Jones 4 September 2017

Just 17 anglers turned out for this match, as it was the Bank Holiday, but an interesting result ensued. Winner, from his favourite and much fished peg 5, was Brian "Golden Arm" Tinman with 38 Lbs 6 Ozs taken on meat, fished over on the far bank under the willow trees. Second, with a weight of 19 Lbs 12 Ozs from peg 9, was Tony Poolton and third with 13 Lbs exactly, was Graham Jones, but I am not yet aware from which peg. I do know that he beat our Match Secretary, Will Carr, into 4th place by just a pound - and Will lost a barbel......! This now means Ken Arnold, who only managed 4 points for 7th place, is still leading the league with 46 points, but Graham Jones is now catching him on 41 and Colin Morris, third on 32. Still 4 matches to go and, I believe, Ken will miss at least one of these because he will be on holiday. So it's all to fish for. Click on the link for the full result.
