Sunday 19th July 2015 started out wet and humid, but by the time the draw at 0900 Hrs had taken place, the weather improved in as much as it stopped raining. But the wind gradually increased and the sun came out, raising the temperature to around 21C. The brightness coupled with a low river and a strong wind, made fish hard to find for most competitors, but the winner, from peg 28 with 23 Lbs 7 Ozs was Gary Stinton who said after the match "I could have doubled that weight, if I had not lost 5 fish in the snaggy streamer weed!" Second, from peg 25 (not a fancied draw, by any stretch of the imagination!) was Brian Tinman with an excellent 22 Lbs 4 Ozs. In third was Dave Leary, from peg 6 with 21 Lbs 6 Ozs, which made it worth his while travelling from Wales. This now means that Gary Stinton leads the league with 26 points, Brian Tinman is second with 24 and Brian's arch-rival, Ken Arnold, is third just one point behind on 23. 5th July was a warm, breezy day and the river was looking a very nice colour. 21 anglers turned out to contest this, the second round of our 10 match Summer League. Winner, from peg 97, was Clive Biddulph, with 35 Lbs 12 Ozs. Second, from fancied peg 6, was Brian Tinman (who seems to have got his "Golden Arm" back in the draw bag!) with 32 Lbs. Third was Ken Arnold, with just 9 Lbs 2 Ozs and fourth man in the money was Graham Jones, with 7 Lbs 11 Ozs. The early league leader is now Ken Arnold with 17 points, followed by Gary Stinon on 16 and Brian Tinman on 15. With 8 matches to go, this could easliy dramatically change though! The first match of the season, fished on 22 June 2015, enticed 22 members out of hibernation. The weather was warm and sunny and the river was a good colour and height. Winnner, from peg 95, was Gary Stinton with 26 Lbs 8 Ozs, second, from peg 97, was Ken Arnold with 23 Lbs 12 Ozs, third was Paul Harrison from peg 112 (new peg number - was F1), with 17 Lbs 10 Ozs and fourth, from peg 3, was our now not-so-new Match Secretary, Will Carr with 17 Lbs 8 Ozs.

At the second match on Sunday 5 July, Will Carr will be running a Football Card. This will offset the costs of the after match buffet and contribute towards the engraving of the Trophy Bars. It will cost £1 a go and the winner will get £15. A new initiative that should go down well, because if you win it the cost of the match will have been covered.
