5TH SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH RESULTS

by Bernie Jones 17 August 2015

After some very much needed rain on the preceding Friday, the river had some extra water in it and also some nice colour. Due to work pressures, Will Carr our Match Secretary, could not fish this one, but did drive all the way from Birmingham to do the draw and back again later to get the results done too. Many thanks therefore go to Will. The winner, for the thrid time this year, was Gary Stinton with 32 Lbs 14 Ozs from peg 95. Second was Paul Harrison with 27 Lbs 4 Ozs from peg 28 and third was Ken Arnold with 22 Lbs 4 Ozs from peg 88. This means that at the half way stage of this 10 match series, Gary Stinton is the clear leader with 41 points and his nearest challenger is Ken Arnold, ten points back on 31, with Paul Harrison in third on 27. As Will Carr said after the match, we need to think about taking Gary's rods off him to stand a chance of catching him now!

FOURTH SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH RESULTS

by Bernie Jones 4 August 2015

On a bright and breezy 2nd August, just 19 anglers contested the 4th round of our 10 match Summer League series. The colour in the river earlier in the week had dropped out of it and the river was low. This made it hard to locate the barbel, but veteran Pat Nolan showed everyone the way with a 4 barbel catch for 23 Lbs 10 Ozs from peg 25. Pat used a variety of pellet baits, halibut, crab and krill to tempt his fish. Second was Nick Bastock with 14 Lbs 4 Ozs consisting of 2 barbel and a chub from peg 95 again all caught on pellet. Third was Craig Cope from peg 6 with another 2 barbel and one chub for 13 Lbs 10 Ozs. Fourth from peg 88 was Chairman Carl Pavey with a barbel and bits for 12 Lbs 8 Ozs. As Brian Tinman gave everyone else a chance by being sick, this meant that consistant rod, Gary Stinton, took the lead in the league with 31 points. Gary has opened a gap to second placed Brian on 24 and third place goes to Ken Arnold, just one point behind on 23. It's starting to get interesting now! Here's the full result:
