The second round of this year's Winter League was also fished on Birches Pool at Melverley on 3rd November 2019. The pool did not produce the big weights we had at the first round, which was strange, since the weather was quite mild and the pool had a good colour. After a masterclass in bread punch fishing from Brian Tinman before the match started, I won it fishing the pellet at about 7 metres! Thanks anyway Brian. My weight of 29 Lbs 8 Ozs just pushed Brian (from the next peg) into second place with 27 Lbs 8 Ozs. Third, from the other side of the pool, was Clive Biddulph with 25 Lbs 8 Ozs.

The third match was fished at Monkhall Pools' Swallow pool on 17th November 2019. After a few cold nights the pool fished hard for the 10 anglers who turned out. Clive Biddulph ran out winner with 41 Lbs 8 Ozs. Second was Ken Arnold with 37 Lbs 2 Ozs and third was Will Carr with 24 Lbs 8 Ozs. I unfortunately could not make this match, so don't have any further information.

So, after 3 rounds Clive is leading with 27 points and Ken is one point behind on 26, with Will in third on 20. The next round will be on Heronbrook on 5th January 2020. For the full result, click on the link.
