SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH 3 (FLOAT ONLY)

by Bernie Jones 22 July 2017

This match usually produces a few less anglers, as it is restricted to float only, but there were still 18 of us that contested it. After a really long dry spell, the river was in dire need of some fresh water. The weather was, at least, overcast for most of the 5 hours, which helped a little. Surprise winner from peg 8 was Paul Harrison with a bag of small chub and a bonus 4 Lbs 8 Ozs pike for a total of 16 Lbs 2 Ozs. Second, from peg 88, was Colin Morris with small chub and bits for 10 Lbs 2 Ozs and third was Graham Jones from peg 80 with a similar bag for 9 Lbs 6 Ozs. League positions after 3 matches  are: 1st - Ken Arnold with 23 points, 2nd Dave Leary with 19 and Graham Jones with 17. Early days yet, with 7 matches to go, so read the results here first as the season progresses. Click on the link for the full result.

SUMMER LEAGUE - MATCH 2

by Bernie Jones 7 July 2017

Just 19 match anglers contested the second round of the league on 2nd July 2017 on a low river and a bright sunlit day. Again, this made finding fish (other than bleak!) very hard going. But, once again, that man Dave Leary made it look easy with a winning weight of exactly 32 Lbs taken from peg 9 with varied baits including sweetcorn, pellet and meat resulting in barbel and chub coming to his net. Second was Graham Jones from peg 78 with 16 Lbs 2 Ozs and third was Ken Arnold with 14 Lbs 4 Ozs from peg 76. For the full result, please click on the link. You need to hit the 2017 tab for this year's results!
