Will all members using the Buildwas Car Park PLEASE ensure that the entrance gates from the lane are closed once you have parked and especially when you leave. Leaving them open, like somone did in the photo below, only attracts more Fly-Tipping.

As the river is still over its banks and will be for some time to come, Will Carr, our Match Secretary, has decided that the first round of the 2019/2020 Winter League will be fished at Melverley Pools. Draw will be at 0845 Hrs.
A decision regarding the postponed summer league matches will be made once the river is back in its banks.

Apologies for the late notification, but due to the unbelievably heavy and persistent rainfall over the past 48 hours, the river is now well over its banks and the match tomorrow has had to be postponed.

The match is ON! After an inspection of the river height this afternoon Match Secretary, Will Carr, has decided that the river will be fishable on Sunday. Only early pegs in Cressage Meadow will be used as these will have to be walked to because the meadow is so waterlogged, so bring your wellies! Pools will be £15/angler and will pay the first 2 pairs.

I was not able to make this match, which was a "Float Only" but our Match Sec has provided the following details. In first place, with a weight of exactly 15 Lbs consisting of one barbel, one chub and some "bits" from peg 75 was Ben Lloyd. Second was Ken Arnold from peg 111 with a weight of 9 Lbs 8 Ozs and third was Clive Biddulph with 8 Lbs 7 Ozs from adjacent peg 110. As Paul Harrison managed just 6 points, but Dave Leary gained another 8, things have tightened up at the top of the league. Paul still leads by the narrowest of margins on 42 points. Clive has 41 and Dave Leary 33. Ken Arnold is looking ominous in 5th place with 32. As we have matches 9 and 10 to fish, plus the postponed match 1, there are 30 points up for grabs yet, so there's everything to fish for. Click on the link for the full result.
