Our Match Secretary, Will Carr, has been extremely busy at work this month, so has only had time to send the headline results of this match so far. The full result will follow ASAP.
17 anglers contested this match on a very warm (20C) day, after the river had been up 6 feet, but had run off to about 3 feet up and just nicely coloured. Winner was Ant James from peg 18 with exactly 27 Lbs, second was veteran Pat Nolan from peg 33 with exactly 22 Lbs and third was Ray Armstrong with 17 Lbs 8 Ozs from peg 5. Barbel made up the bulk of these weights and were mostly taken on meat.
This now means that Ken Arnold (who fished this match instead of going on holiday to ensure Graham Jones didn't catch him up!) now has 66 points and Graham has 60. Will Carr has fallen back with only 43 now, so it will be down to the last match - the Wines & Spirits - on 22nd October, to determine the League winner. Read about it here first.

24th September saw just 16 anglers compete in this second float only match. River levels were normal, but little colour was present. Winner, from peg 72 was our Match Sec Will Carr with 16 Lbs 8 Ozs. Will says he had a lucky 7 Lbs barbel in the first 10 minutes and steadily added to this fishing the Bolo with double white maggot. Second was Graham Jones from peg 88 with a net of 15 Lbs 1 Oz taken on meat and pellet fished under a waggler down the middle of the river. Third was Ant James from peg 80 with a weight of 12 Lbs 8 Ozs taken on stick float using a variety of baits, mainly maggot. With Graham finishing 2nd and leader of the league, Ken Arnold, only managing a 7th place, the gap has narrowed for this year's league winner with Ken on 59 points and Graham on 55. Will Carr moved into third spot on 42 and with Colin Morris on 40 these 4 guys now must slug it out over the last two matches. There are 20 points up for grabs for two wins, so it could be a nail-biting finish. For the full result, click on the link.
