After the fiasco of last weekend's match that was supposed to be on Weston Pools, but, because th pool was frozen, ended up with having to be shifted to Spring Lea for just 4 hours, Weston Pools have offered us "compensation" in the form of another match for half price on 19 February. Will Carr has accepted this and will run an extra winter league leg there on this date.

Will all competitors please note that the rule requiring 3 keepnets for the next Winter league match has been waived. Thanks to our Match Secretary, Weston Pools has agreed to allow just 2 nets, one for carp and one for silvers, to be used. Will Carr also asks that all 17 of us get to this match, as the cost of this venue is the most expensive of the series. This will ensure that there is a decent pools payout.
Some of our number, mentioning no names (Brian Tinman and Ken Arnold) have been practicing with their new poles. Yes! They have, at long last capitulated and bought one each! There are barbel in the Canal Pool that we will be fishing and a recent match was won with a 50 Lbs + net of them. But, apparently, there were very few other pegs that produced much. Just odd carp and few silvers. So Will is going to leave that peg out!
See you on 29 January.
