The venue attracted 11 anglers for this match at Melverley Farm Pools. The weather was mild for 23 November and after a few light showers the sun even came out. From a fancied peg in the corner, Brian Tinman had a fish whilst testing the depth with a bare hook! This obviously bode well, as he went on to trounce the opposition with a net of 52 Lbs 8 Ozs. After having a "near death experience" when Ken Arnold took him onto the Buildwas section of the river in the rain on Friday before the match, he got his revenge on Ken, who was soundly beaten into second place on the next peg, with 32 Lbs dead. Third was Nick Bastock from the fancied road side of the pool with 23 Lbs 8 Ozs. The venue is fantastic, as it contains every species except pike. This was borne out by Clive Biddulph, who put a tench and a barbel on the scales in addition to the chub, carp, bream, roach and rudd that all other anglers caught.
